Day 4- Vienna to Munich

Today was a mix of vigorous walking and sitting on a bus- each a nice break from the other. We started off the day early, leaving our Vienna hostel at 8 AM with all of our luggage. We packed lunches to eat on the mountains, and then we were off on our four hour bus drive.

On the bus, the views were amazing. In the midst of playing games, sleeping, and reading, everyone was taking pictures of the great scenery around us. Once we got near the alp, we saw a lot of small houses and farms, a huge lake, and a lot of greenery.

After getting to the alp and off the bus, we went up on two different cable cars up to the top of the mountain. The cable cars were mostly made of windows, so we could see the landscapes around us. It was a smooth ride until certain parts when it got really steep, and then everyone in the cars screamed for a second; it was really fun to be a part of.

Once we were up the alp, we started the hike to the highest point where there were trails. Most of the group stopped to take pictures along the way, and then once we got to the "5 Fingers", we ate lunch.

The "5 Fingers" is a series of platforms that overlooks the mountain so that the person on one is over the edge. It was insanely gorgeous looking out over the lakes and the small towns.

After that, we all headed down half the mountain until we could hike up to a certain part for the ice cave. The ice cave was, obviously, very cold, but also very beautiful. There were certain parts that had no ice, while other small sections were made of completely ice.

Finally, we made our way to Munich, Germany to stay at another hostel for a few days until we reach our host families.
