Day 8 - First day in School

Today was our first day of school.

Their school has around 500 students, ranging from 5th grade to 12th grade.

School started at around 7:40, and we were first shown to our homeroom and then given a welcoming speech by the school's head master.

Then, we were given Brezel (Pretzel) with butter and all the ingredients needed for Spezi (Fanta and Coke). Needless to say, it was delicious.

After that, Herr Oertle passed out school shirts for us.

After our welcoming, we went to classes. Some people went with their exchange students, while others went with a 9th grade class.
Me and some other American students went with class 9b to their classes.
First we went to chemistry.
What we were able to figure out is that the lesson was something about acids/bases and polarity. It was very interesting to see a German class.

We also took notes:

Then we went to French class, where we learned about the indirect past tense.

After that, school was over for the day so we went home for lunch.

(That's Alf, Teresa's dog)

Then I went with my host mother and sister to a German supermarket that was a bit like a Costco.

Did I mention there were Milka donuts?

(Yeah, we got them).
After that we went home and worked on homework, and then we ate dinner. All in all it was a good first day of school.
